Alexis is a graduate of Western Carolina University, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she completed a degree double majoring in Psychology and French, with a focus on drugs and behavior research. She brings with her a great deal of experience having volunteered with AmeriCorps partnering with other community-based nonprofits in Connecticut, New York, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
Alexis is not a stranger to Lake House Academy having worked as a clinical intern in graduate school prior to working with adults and children in community-based mental health agencies. Clinically Alexis enjoys focusing on neurodiversity, mind/body connections, and expressive arts interventions. She works to co-create authentic relationships with her clients, and frequently integrates Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
