Residential Life Program at Lake House Academy

The Residential Life Program at Lake House Academy is a relationship based, skill building, and positive learning environment for our young girls. The Residential staff encourage and promote self - esteem and self-efficacy through building relationships, introspection, goal setting, and accomplishments. We empower our girls to return home with the skills and tools they need to prosper and grow within their home life, academic setting, and within their surrounding community. Our staff are dedicated to ensuring that each girl is treated with the care, respect, and attention that they need and deserve, while fostering and implementing the Lake House mission, vision, and therapeutic interventions. We believe that strong communication and relationships are the key to success and genuine growth for our girls and for our staff.

Having the fortune of being located in beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina and on Highland Lake , we take every chance that we can get in having our girls participate in many outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking, camping, swimming, tubing, running, and just going for a brisk walk around the lake. You may also see us taking a trip to the YMCA to play basketball, take a yoga class, or try out the rock climbing wall. Arts and crafts, music, dancing, and gardening are all incorporated into the day to day experience at Lake House Academy. We take pride in giving our girls choices throughout the day to day as well. It is not uncommon to see a group of girls playing cards, while another group of girls are playing water games in the Infinity pool or lake. Lake House Academy also believes in the power of community service and we have our girls reaching out and serving in as many areas and opportunities that we can.
